SevenLog Takes On a High-Stakes Project Cargo Move From Ghana to Morocco

The operation combines dangerous goods and OOG cargo, two of the most demanding elements in project logistics, managed end-to-end by SevenLog’s cross-border team

SevenLog, Conqueror member in Tema/Accra, Ghana; Lomé, Togo; and Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, is currently overseeing the export of a complex project cargo shipment from Ghana to Morocco. This project brings together two of the most demanding cargo types in the industry: dangerous goods (DG) and out-of-gauge (OOG) freight.

Shipments of this nature leave little room for error. The presence of hazardous materials introduces a strict layer of regulatory compliance, documentation requirements, and handling protocols that must be met at every stage. Alongside this, the oversized dimensions of the OOG cargo demand purpose-built transport arrangements, careful route planning, and precise load management to keep the operation moving safely and on schedule.

“When you’re dealing with a combination of dangerous goods and out-of-gauge cargo in a single shipment, the margin for improvisation is zero,” said Jesse Nuno, General Manager at SevenLog. “Every decision from how the cargo is prepared and documented to how it moves across borders, has to be deliberate and precise. Simply put, this operation is a reflection of what our teams across Ghana, Togo, and Côte d’Ivoire are built to handle, and we’re committed to delivering it to the standard our client expects.”

SevenLog’s team is overseeing every phase of the shipment, from cargo preparation and documentation at origin through to final delivery in Morocco. They are coordinating closely across borders to ensure nothing is left to chance.

Conqueror wishes SevenLog a smooth completion of this operation!

Conqueror Cairo executes a highly sophisticated Out-of-Gauge international land freight project

They successfully coordinated the cross-border movement of five oversized shutters, overcoming customs, port, and regulatory challenges through meticulous planning and seamless execution

MGL Cargo Services, member of Conqueror Freight Network in Cairo, Egypt, has completed a highly demanding Out-of-Gauge (OOG) land freight project, transporting five oversized industrial shutters from Egypt to Oman. The operation involved five extendable low-bed trailers, each carrying cargo measuring 28 metres in length, 3.4 metres in width, and 4.9 metres in height, with a weight of 49 tonnes. Executing a project of this scale required extensive planning, close coordination among multiple stakeholders, and expert handling across several jurisdictions.

As part of the comprehensive logistics solution, the team managed customs clearance in Egypt and at transit borders, end-to-end land transportation, and all in-transit handling and documentation, ensuring the cargo moved efficiently despite its exceptional dimensions.

“Our team thrives on projects that demand technical expertise, strategic planning, and flawless coordination,” said Mr Wassim Magdy, Managing Director of MGL Cargo Services. “Successfully transporting these oversized units from Egypt to Oman demonstrates our ability to turn complex logistics challenges into efficient and reliable solutions. Every stage of the operation required collaboration, adaptability, and attention to detail, and I am proud of the commitment our team and partners showed throughout the journey.”

The project presented several operational challenges, including navigating complex Egyptian customs procedures, developing a specialized ferry loading plan for the oversized cargo, securing special approvals for X-ray inspections at Duba’a Port due to the cargo’s height, and obtaining road permits across multiple countries. Through careful preparation and proactive problem-solving, the team successfully overcame each obstacle and completed the shipment safely and on schedule.

Congratulations to MGL Cargo Services on successfully pulling off this complex OOG shipment!
