Baxter Freight has built a strong reputation not only for its logistics expertise but also for its commitment to employee wellbeing and sustainability
The Sunday Times has officially recognised Baxter Freight, Conqueror member in Birmingham, as one of the UK’s Best Places to Work in the medium organisation category. Published on Friday, 22nd May, The Sunday Times compiled the official report in partnership with leading employee experience platform WorkL. This yearly award recognizes and celebrates the UK’s top employers who are leading the way in employee engagement, workplace culture, and overall employee experience.
To qualify for inclusion, companies were assessed by employees across six key areas: reward and recognition, instilling pride, information sharing, empowerment, wellbeing, and overall job satisfaction. They only selected companies that met a high engagement benchmark, with 567 companies featured in the final 2026 rankings.

“We’re delighted that The Sunday Times recognised us as a Best Place to Work, especially because the award reflects the real, everyday experiences of our team,” said Lorraine Sutcliffe, HR Director at Baxter Freight. “It is also testament to our mission as an ethical, people-oriented and planet-focused logistics provider and our commitment to creating a workplace where employees feel valued, supported and able to develop.”
Zoe Thomas, editor of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work, highlighted the importance of employee-focused business cultures in today’s evolving work environment. “The thread joining them is the belief that a happy workforce is a stepping stone to better performance, faster growth, and bigger profits,” she stated while referring to this year’s winning organisations across different sectors and company sizes.
Baxter Freight promotes open communication and career development while offering benefits such as paid dental plans, gym allowances, and weekly breakfasts for employees. Their staff also have access to mental health support through an Employee Assistance Programme and a dedicated wellness room. Beyond the workplace, the company supports community initiatives through paid volunteering days with Hope Nottingham, monthly litter-picking activities, and awareness programmes focused on diversity and inclusion.
Congratulations to Baxter Freight on this achievement and for their strong commitment to employee well-being!
