With Strait of Hormuz closed and Suez traffic still low, KG Marin Logistik turns to an overland corridor to the Gulf

KG Marin Lojistik, Conqueror member in Ankara, Türkiye, has completed a major road freight operation from Ankara to Dubai, UAE. The project moved approximately 98 tons of industrial equipment across five countries along a single overland corridor. A fleet of nine mega trailers and one flatbed trailer carried the shipment together from the Turkish capital to the UAE.

International logistics is under considerable strain. The Strait of Hormuz is effectively closed to normal commercial shipping, and Suez Canal traffic remains well below pre-crisis levels. As a result, with traditional maritime routes disrupted, shippers moving cargo between Türkiye and the Middle East are looking for dependable alternatives.

In this challenging environment, overland transportation corridors offer potential alternatives for moving cargo between Türkiye and the Middle East. KG Marin has responded by developing overland logistics solutions linking Türkiye with the region. Their Ankara–Dubai operation demonstrates how careful route planning, operational flexibility, and logistics expertise can help address complex transportation requirements across multiple borders.

Additionally, the movement of nearly 98 tons of industrial equipment required the coordination of ten trailers across an international route spanning five countries.Commenting on the operation, Mr Gencay Türkmen Kuru, Managing Partner of KG MARIN LOJISTIK, said: “Challenging times call for alternative solutions. When traditional maritime routes face disruptions, flexibility, experience, and creative logistics planning become more important than ever. Our Ankara–Dubai operation demonstrates what flexibility, experience and creative planning can achieve. When traditional routes face obstacles, KG Marin finds another way.”

As global supply chains continue to adapt to geopolitical developments and transportation disruptions, logistics providers are increasingly exploring alternative corridors to maintain cargo flows. Overland transportation can play an important role in providing additional routing options, particularly for industrial equipment and other cargo requiring tailored transport arrangements.

Congratulations to KG Marin and all the best for their upcoming projects!
